NZ Māori Hockey National teams - Taitokerau represented

An exceptional year for Taitokerau players - a campaign that saw many successes in the naming of the NZMH Senior and Junior national teams which had players from Tai Tokerau selected :
NZ Māori Junior Wahine - Coach Courtney Phillips has announced her Junior team at the powhakangauhau evening on Sunday 23-10-2022 in Nelson. Congratulations to these players from Taitokerau : Amy Sampson, Brodie Cochrane (GK), Grace Hilton-Jones, Holly Hilton-Jones, Jessica Wech, Murphy Phillips, Trenelle Woods-Eruera
NZ Māori Junior Tane - Coach David Hayes announced his squad and two players from Taitokerau were included : Caleb Williamson and Solomon Haenga-Plank.
NZ Māori Senior Wahine - today Coach Tina Bell-Kake announced her final selections of her senior squad. These players are now confirmed for Taitokerau:
Brodie Cochrane (GK), Amy Sampson, Jade Litchfield, Murphy Phillips, Jamie Rapana, Chenae Phillips, Garby Smith.
Congratulations to all these players named for these teams, well deserved. Both the Tane and Wahine Junior teams will meet in January 2023, for a their respective training camps. A game will be confirmed against the NZ Indians U23 teams fairly soon.
The senior wahine will play their games in 2023 in the NZ Heritage Tournament, playing against NZ Indians, NZ Pasifika and possible one other team. Trails will be held to select the NZ Māori team that will play that weekend.
