U13's Development Program (Yr7/8)
In line with Small Sticks, the aim of our U13 Program is to provide an enjoyable hockey experience for children and whānau to foster a lifelong love of hockey. It’s all about playing with friends and learning new skills in a fun, safe and games-based environment.
Our small sided versions of the game provide a more effective learning environment for the tamariki maximizing participation – More touches of the Ball + More Involvement = Better Skill Development + More FUN!.
It’s not just about the children, hockey can easily become a family affair. Parents and whānau make great coaches, managers and officials. Hockey Northland provide great support and ongoing development no matter the experience you have.
U13 Festival of Hockey
There have been some changes to representative hockey the U13 age group, if you want to play you can, teams will be put together as evenly as possible and coaches appointed. Teams will travel to a one day festival in North Harbour to help make it accessible for more. They will represent Northland while playing hockey, learning some new skills and having a load of fun with friends.
As an indication of costs, 2024 was$45 per player.
