• Oceania Cup is the premier international men’s and women's field hockey championship of Oceania organised by the Oceania Hockey Federation.
• The 2023 Men’s and Women's Oceania Cup will be the twelfth edition of the Men’s and Women's Oceania Cup after the cancellation of the 2021 edition due to the COVID-19 pandemic
• Held every two years it determines which teams from Oceania will receive an automatic berth to the Men’s and Women’s FIH Hockey World Cup or Summer Olympics.
The 2023 Oceania Cup has significant meaning as the Men’s and Women’s winners of the 2023 Oceania Cup will qualify for the 2024 Summer Olympics.
• The Series involves four international teams – Vantage Black Stick Men, Vantage Black Stick Women, Kookaburras Men and Hockeyroos Women.
• The Vantage Black Stick Women are the defending champions, having won the 2019 edition held in Rockhampton Australia.
