Tēnā koutou katoa

I have been fortunate to work within the sport sector for over 15 years, all of those based in Te Tai Tokerau and when the CEO role came up, I jumped at the chance. I am very proud to be part of Hockey Northland and the community of which I am very passionate about.

I have long held the belief that sport, particularly team sport, provides meaningful impact for people and communities. This has been true for my experience where I owe so much to those wonderful people who have contributed to the person I am today.

Being actively involved for the last 15 seasons, I am excited to bring my passion and experience to this role where I aim to build on the rich legacy of hockey in Northland and see HN reach its full potential. I believe bringing people together through collaboration, active communication, transparency, shared values, founded on a drive for excellence, will be critical in delivering our vision to provide the best hockey experience in New Zealand!

With the support of my wonderful family, our hard-working HN staff, the generous partners and sponsors, and most importantly our dedicated volunteers and hockey community, I genuinely believe we can create something that we can all be proud of and where everyone has a sense of belonging.

I sincerely look forward to meeting and connecting with our entire community. My door is always open, so please feel free to reach out to me anytime.

Ngā mihi nui,

Tama Jones
