At the AGM of Northland Hockey Association held on Monday 13th June 2022 – five Life Members were recognised for their outstanding contributions to the hockey community. An accumulation of 186 years service between all five candidates is more than a memorable effort, this needs to be remembered as they continue being involved in the sport that they love.
Murray Lints (Chairperson of AGM) “as far back as I can remember it’s been unheard of, that we have had five nominations before. In my view there are others – remember this for next year. I implore you to look at those members within your clubs that have completed years of service. All deserving recipients of this award”.
Grant McLeod (CEO – Hockey Northland) “in listening to the nominations we can hear the similar characteristics of those awards. Years of long service, volunteers on committees, umpiring, coaching, involved in representative teams and most evident is their efforts they personally volunteer for unconditionally. Not only at a local level but a national level”.
Hockey Northland extend their gratitude to all five recipients for the years of long service that they have given, and are still giving.
